Top WWE star and former WWE Women’s Champion Bianca Belair has been out of in-ring action since suffering a broken finger at WrestleMania 41 last year. An earlier report from the Wrestling Observer Newsletter indicated that Belair was expected to return to the ring at the 2026 Royal Rumble premium live event (PLE) in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. However, that timeline has changed.
Self Made initially reported that Belair is expected to play a role in this April's WrestleMania 42. BodySlam+ later confirmed Self Made’s report, stating that Belair will indeed be involved in the event in some capacity. However, it was noted that a source mentioned Belair is currently on an internal list for a tag team match, but it remains unclear whether this match will happen at WrestleMania 42, and there is no specific date for her return.
Another source told BodySlam+ that Belair's rehabilitation and recovery process has been difficult, noting that they have never seen anything like it. Despite facing multiple complications during her recovery, Belair is said to have maintained a positive mindset throughout the ordeal.
Belair last appeared for WWE at Evolution 2025 in July, where she served as the special guest referee in a No Holds Barred Match between WWE Women's Champion Jade Cargill and Naomi, with Cargill emerging victorious.
