Backstage Update On Matches Scheduled For This Month's WWE Survivor Series: WarGames PLE

WWE is set to hold its Survivor Series: WarGames premium live event (PLE) on Saturday, November 29th, at Petco Park in San Diego, California. As of now, only a couple of matches have been announced for the show.

According to Dave Meltzer in the latest edition of the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, several match plans remain uncertain. Expectations based on recent WWE television do not align with the lineups being discussed internally. Meltzer reports that the Men’s and Women’s WarGames matches are the only bouts currently progressing as planned.

The Men’s WarGames match is expected to feature CM Punk, Cody Rhodes, Jey Uso, Jimmy Uso, and an additional competitor. Their opponents are listed as Logan Paul, Bron Breakker, Bronson Reed, and Drew McIntyre, with one more name yet to be determined (Brock Lesnar and Austin Theory were originally considered for these positions).

Meltzer noted that Paul is filling the spot initially designated for Seth Rollins, who has been ruled out due to injury. Rhodes is expected to take the place originally reserved for Jacob Fatu, while LA Knight may fill the remaining babyface role. Neither of the major men’s world titles is expected to be defended at Survivor Series.

The Women’s WarGames match currently includes Rhea Ripley, IYO SKY, and Alexa Bliss, with two partners yet to be confirmed. Their opponents include Asuka, Kairi Sane, Nia Jax, and Lash Legend. Earlier plans included AJ Lee on the babyface side and Becky Lynch on the heel side, but adjustments may depend on developments during the November 17 RAW at Madison Square Garden, which could include a potential match between Lynch and Maxxine Dupri.

Additional matches likely to take place at the PLE include a bout featuring Stephanie Vaquer against Nikki Bella, although this is not yet finalized. John Cena is also expected to appear, but his match remains uncertain and might be addressed on the November 17 RAW. Meltzer mentioned that a potential matchup between Rey Mysterio and Dominik Mysterio was discussed, but it is currently not listed as active for the event. Lastly, a match between Jade Cargill and Charlotte Flair was subtly teased on SmackDown, but it is more likely to occur further down the line.
