Backstage Update On Potential Matchups For AEW Revolution 2026

Three matches have been officially announced for the 2026 Revolution Pay-Per-View (PPV) following last week’s episode of AEW Dynamite. MJF will defend his AEW World Championship against "Hangman" Adam Page, FTR will put their AEW World Tag Team Titles on the line against The Young Bucks, and Konosuke Takeshita will challenge Jon Moxley for the AEW Continental Championship in a No Time Limit match.

According to Dave Meltzer in the latest edition of the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, a match between Ricochet and Jack Perry for the AEW National Championship is a possibility based on recent TV developments, but it is not yet confirmed for Revolution. Meltzer also highlighted how prominently AEW has promoted Kevin Knight’s victory over Kazuchika Okada in the Continental Classic, making that match seem likely for the event.

Another match that Meltzer feels is likely to occur is Kris Statlander’s rematch against Thekla for the AEW Women’s World Championship. Thekla won the title from Statlander on last week’s AEW Dynamite, and Statlander, during a promo on this week’s show after Renee Paquette noted she wasn’t cleared to compete in the next couple of weeks, vowed to fight the champion. Additionally, Willow Nightingale vs. Megan Bayne is also expected to be on the card for Nightingale’s TBS Championship.

Several wrestlers who are not yet booked for the show but are likely to be included are Toni Storm, Mercedes Moné, Swerve Strickland, Andrade El Idolo, Kyle Fletcher, Tommaso Ciampa, Darby Allin, Orange Cassidy, and Gabe Kidd, among others.

AEW Revolution 2026 will take place on Sunday, March 15th, at the Crypto.com Arena in Los Angeles, California, and will air live on PPV.
