Backstage Update On WWE’s Plans To Turn Cody Rhodes Heel In The Near Future

Recently, rumors have circulated online suggesting that former Undisputed WWE Champion "The American Nightmare" Cody Rhodes is being set up for a heel turn, particularly following several altercations between him and Nick Aldis on SmackDown.

However, these rumors appear to be unfounded. According to the latest Wrestling Observer Newsletter, Rhodes is not scheduled for a heel turn anytime soon. The report indicates that company sources have confirmed there are no current plans for such a turn and that it will not occur until WWE feels it is necessary. Furthermore, it was emphasized that any potential heel turn is not expected in the near future, especially since Rhodes’ merchandise sales are performing very well, which WWE has no intention of jeopardizing.

Cody Rhodes lost the Undisputed WWE Championship to Drew McIntyre on the January 9th episode of SmackDown and has since been in a feud with Jacob Fatu, who interfered in that match. Rhodes will face Fatu in a singles match at Saturday Night’s Main Event.
