WWE Women's Champion Jade Cargill and her WrestleMania 42 challenge, Rhea Ripley, have been going at it on social media recently, using the platform to build up their match.
The interaction between the two heated up so rapidly that to some, the lines became blurred speculation began if the two actually escalated their jabs beyond the realms of what was considered appropriate. What started as an obvious work to build up their program took a serious turn when Cargill mentioned that Ripley spends "hours" talking to creative.
Fightful Select reported that while a number of WWE sources were "puzzled" that Cargill would bring up creative in a public manner to further a feud, generally the company was happy at the buzz their interaction generated as many have walked away coming to the conclusion that the two women legitimately don't like each other.
WWE officials are also said to be not concerned that the two will be able to work together at WrestleMania and while some have suspected that the entire fiasco is an elaborate work, one source in WWE stated that the line about "creative" would never have been mentioned if it was a work as it undermines the point of the feud.
Other WWE superstars - notably Chelsea Green and Piper Niven - also got involved with Niven referencing a rumor from two the winter of 2024 when Cargill was notably and mysteriously absent with conflicting reports suggesting either an injury or simply that Cargill booked a vacation during WWE's holiday tour.
To add more intrigue to these dynamics, Cargill has also been the topic of some locker room talk amongst other wrestlers since Tiffany Stratton, Michin and B-Fab all got injured and missed time after matches with Cargill. The report noted however, that despite Cargill's growing reputation as possibly an unsafe worker, there is no heat on her from WWE management for her work or he tweet bringing up the creative team.
