Brock Lesnar Set To Defend His WWE Championship At MSG Next Month

The opening segment of last night's post-Elimination Chamber episode of RAW saw Brock Lesnar make his way down to the ring to celebrate his WWE Title victory from this past Saturday’s Elimination Chamber Event in Saudi Arabia, but he was quickly interrupted by Paul Heyman. Lesnar and Heyman then got into a heated back and forth promo segment and Paul Heyman announced that he went to WWE higher-ups and it was decided that Brock Lesnar will be defending his WWE Championship at a WWE live event from Madison Square Garden in New York City on Saturday, March 5th against former WWE Champion Bobby Lashley.

Bobby Lashley was reportedly removed from the WWE Title Elimination Chamber Match due to a legitimate shoulder injury and it was noted that he will be needing surgery, but the storyline is that Bobby had suffered a concussion on Saturday when Seth Rollins launched Austin Theory through Lashley’s pod with a Buckle Bomb and that would ultimately lead to Brock Lesnar once again becoming the WWE Champion. It was reported that Lashley was in Birmingham, Alabama on Monday to meet with WWE doctors in regards to his shoulder and that he is expected to miss around 4 months of in-ring action due to surgery, but it has not been made official yet.

The MSG website also has The Brock Lesnar vs. Bobby Lashley Match advertised for around two weeks now for the March 5th WWE live event, but there is no word yet on if the match will take place as the WWE revealed last night on RAW that Bobby Lashley’s status depends on what is determined while he’s under concussion protocols, so it is possible that "The Beast" Brock Lesnar will defend his title against a different opponent.
