Bryan Danielson Talks Vince McMahon’s Reaction To When He Told Him He Wants To Bleed

Former WWE Star and current All Elite Wrestling Star Bryan Danielson recently had a conversation with Wrestling Observer Radio on the two reasons he gave WWE Chairman Vince McMahon about why he wanted to leave the WWE to go to AEW and Vince McMahon's reaction. Bryan Danielson said he wanted to spend more time with his family at home and he wanted to bleed in a match, but the WWE Chairman told him that he will never be able to give him the bleeding part.

Bryan Danielson said:

“Two things that aren’t related at all would be – I would be able to spend more time at home with my family and that I would also be able to bleed. I don’t like to divulge my conversations with Vince at all because I know he’s a very private person. But I will say this, one of the things….when I finally made my decision I’m like, ‘Okay, I’m set on this decision’, and he was kind of asking me why [leaving WWE for AEW] and I said, ‘You know, there’s part of me too that just wants to be able to bleed’ and he immediately said, ‘Well, I’m sorry I’ll never be able to give you that.’ So yeah, it’s not like I want to do it all the time. There’s something, I don’t know, incredibly life-affirming about it, as strange as that sounds.”

WWE has had a very strict policy against their wrestlers bleeding ever since they became a PG product in 2008, but there have been a number of incidents over the years where top Superstars ended up being busted open, whether it’s from blading or being cut open in a more brutal manner.
