Cesaro On How He Came Up With “The Neutralizer” As His Finishing Move

WWE SmackDown Superstar Cesaro recently appeared on Out of Character with Ryan Satin, where he talked about how he came up with “The Neutralizer” as his finishing move.

Cesaro said:

“Switzerland is neutral. If you neutralize somebody, you put them out of commission. It’s a wonderful pun. It’s a wonderful homage to my home country. I would like to take credit for it, but there may have been somebody else that said I should use it, and I said, ‘Ok, I’ll do it.’”

“When I came through the ranks, it was one of those, ‘Can you hit your finisher on anybody? Even the Big Show?’ I was like,’Let me show you.’ What move can I do that I literally could do to everybody after 30 minutes of a grueling wrestling match, that I could do 5 or 6 days a week? I wanted to have something that was super effective, fun, and I could do to everybody. What is usually scary is people are super sweaty or they slip or something like that, but there’s nobody that I was like, ‘That was a terrible neutralizer.’ It’s always fun to do it to Big Show, Khali, or Mark Henry, somebody that’s really big that’s a challenge. Then you find different ways to get into it. I love it.”
