According to Fightful Select, Colby Corino is no longer under contract with the NWA, as his agreement with the promotion has officially expired. He is now a free agent and able to sign with any company.
BodySlam.net reported that both WWE and AEW have inquired about Corino’s status as a free agent, but it is unclear if any official negotiations have started at this time.
Notably, while Corino has never competed in AEW, he has made two appearances with WWE in the past, including in a RAW Underground match in August 2020. His father, ECW legend Steve Corino, currently serves as a trainer at the WWE Performance Center. The report also mentions that Corino is in discussions with the NWA about a potential new contract, although it remains uncertain if an agreement will be reached.
Corino has been out of in-ring action since August due to emergency spinal surgery. A GoFundMe campaign was launched to help cover his medical expenses, raising a total of $20,000. Corino initially signed with the NWA in 2021, and his most recent match took place at America’s Most Liked Wrestling (AML) Battle Scars 2025 on July 27, where he teamed with Shane Williams in a losing effort against AML Tag Team Champions AJ Francis and Bojack. Corino is a former NWA World Junior Heavyweight Champion.
