In May 2011, Sinclair purchased Ring Of Honor from Cary Silkin and would begin airing weekly episodes of ROH TV on Sinclair-owned stations in September 2011. The promotion would then go on a major hiatus immediately following their Final Battle PPV Event on December 11th, 2021 and would release all their talents from their contracts. On the March 2nd episode of AEW Dynamite, AEW President Tony Khan would announce his purchase of the promotion and ROH Supercard Of Honor was the first PPV coming out of the hiatus and the first PPV with Tony Khan as the owner.
F4WOnline.com reports that this past weekend’s episode of ROH TV was the final episode of the show on Sinclair-owned stations, but Tony Khan did note in an interview that ROH TV will return at some point though he did not know when or how it was going to happen.
Tony Khan said:
“So I really have so much respect for Ring of Honor. I’m a fan of Ring of Honor and now it’s a great privilege to be the owner of Ring of Honor. So I really am very grateful for those fans. I am one of you Ring of Honor fans and I think that’s why it’s going to be very good for the future of the company. I don’t know exactly where the weekly Ring of Honor weekly TV show will live, but I promise I’m gonna bring back the weekly Ring of Honor TV show when I can. I don’t know how and when, but I am very grateful to the media partnership with have with WarnerMedia.”
