As previously reported, the opening segment of last night's Friday Night SmackDown Throwback show saw WWE Hall of Famer, who is also a former SmackDown General Manager, Teddy Long make a surprise return. Teddy Long would announced that Cesaro will earn a shot at the WWE Universal Championship from Reigns at WrestleMania Backlash, if he can beat Seth Rollins in a Singles Match on SmackDown.
During the match, Rollins ended up having words with The Usos at ringside, which would lead to Cesaro getting the huge win and becoming the new #1 contender to Roman's WWE Universal Title at WrestleMania Backlash.
The WrestleMania Backlash PPV is set to take place on Sunday, May 16th from inside WWE ThunderDome at the Yuengling Center in Tampa, Florida.
