WWE Superstar And Hall Of Famer Makes Their Return On Throwback Edition Of SmackDown

The opening segment of last night's Throwback episode of SmackDown saw a huge announcement being made by WWE Universal Champion Roman Reigns that one-half of the Usos, Jimmy Uso, is returning on the show to celebrate with Reigns, Jey Uso and Paul Heyman, and to once again be reunited with his brother. We started the segment with Reigns talking about how he sent Daniel Bryan home following last week’s WWE SmackDown when they faced each other in a Career vs. Title Match. Reigns then said since Daniel Bryan wouldn’t acknowledge him, they replaced Bryan with someone who certainly will, and that is when Jimmy Uso was introduced and then he made his way out.

The opening segment of last night's Throwback episode of SmackDown also saw WWE Hall of Famer, who is also a former SmackDown General Manager, Teddy Long make a surprise return. Teddy Long announced that Cesaro will earn a WWE Universal Title shot from Reigns at WrestleMania Backlash, if he can beat Seth Rollins on SmackDown.

Jimmy Uso has been out of in-ring action since suffering a knee injury this past year on Night One of WrestleMania 36 in the Triple Threat Ladder Match against Kofi Kingston and one-half of the SmackDown Tag Team Champions at the time John Morrison. It was originally reported that Jimmy was expected back sometime between November 2020 and January 2021 after undergoing reconstructive knee surgery, but Jey Uso stated in a December 2020 interview that his brother was expected back in the ring during January or February 2021. It would then be revealed in February that his brother was back training at the WWE Performance Center.
