Hulk Hogan is still a record-setting draw when it comes to the business side of pro wrestling.
Pro wrestling trading cards.
A trading card that featured "The Hulkster" working in Japan at the NJPW Cosmos 1982 special event was sold to a collector on Sunday evening for a record $50,000-plus.
The Hogan trading card had a grade of GEM MT 10, which is essentially perfect condition, and sold for exactly $51,600.
Several years ago, a similar Hogan card from his work at the NJPW Cosmos 1982 show in Japan sold for $997. The card also had an unblemished GEM MT 10 grade.
For those interested in the same card in a slightly-less-than-flawless condition can head over to eBay. There are Hogan cards from the NJPW Cosmos 1982 show in Japan available for $5,000 (No. 6 grade condition), as well as one for $8,500 (No. 8 grade) and another for $5,999 (No. 5 grade).
Featured below is a photo of the Hulk Hogan trading card from his tour of New Japan Pro Wrestling at the NJPW Cosmos 1982 event in Japan, which was just under one year prior to his memorable victory over the legendary Antonio Inoki at the NJPW League Tournament 1983 show to become the inaugural IWGP Heavyweight Champion.

The PSA 10 Cosmos Hulk Hogan originally sold years ago for $997 on eBay. There are some vintage wrestling cards that have simply exploded in value. $51,600 is a very solid number! There will be a $100,000 plus wrestling card one day.
