During our live Smackdown coverage tonight we were informed of the Intercontinental Championship match for WWE's Clash of Champions PPV coming next month.
As you all know, Clash of Champions is the one night every year when every title is defended. Jeff Hardy, the legitimate Intercontinental Champion, has had to deal with pretenders (Sami Zayn) and contenders (AJ Styles), both of whom have excuses as to why they should be the IC champion. Zayn has reminded Hardy for weeks that he never lost the title, but WWE instead stripped it because he took time off. Hardy, meanwhile, has done nothing but complain since losing the title to Hardy that Hardy cheated by using his knee brace.
During tonight's broadcast, after a match between Sami Zayn and AJ Styles, Hardy came out, attacked both men, and announced that he would face them at Clash of Champions in a triple-threat ladder match for the Intercontinental Championship!
