Jerry "The King" Lawler has confirmed that his WWE career as an active personality is likely over.
As noted earlier this week, the WWE contract for the Memphis wrestling legend expired at the end of 2023, and the company opted not to renew it heading into 2024.
WWE would later clarify that Lawler is still, in fact, under a 'WWE Legends' contract.
In a new interview with PWInsider.com, Lawler appeared to confirm that his career with WWE as a commentator is over due to the stroke he suffered last year.
"One other thing that a lot of people wonder about, my career has probably ended with the WWE," Lawler said. "And that's it's just one of those things that goes with my getting over with all the stuff that happened with the stroke."
Lawler continued, "And it was my, my just sitting behind a desk and doing it commentating on a match again was the extremely difficult."
