Jushin Thunder Liger Reveals What He Feels Was Best Match Of The Year

Jushin Thunder Liger recently spoke with Tokyo Sports for an in-depth interview covering all things pro wrestling.

During the discussion, the veteran pro wrestling spoke about his belief that Japanese wrestling can't put the blame on COVID-19 for declining attendance, his pick for the best match of the year.

Featured below are some of the highlights from the interview where he touches on these topics with his thoughts.

On why he doesn't think wrestling in Japan can blame COVID anymore for poor attendance: "I was deeply moved that New Japan held the Fukuoka Dome event in my hometown. But the turnout was the same as Noah’s, and they were struggling. You can’t just say, ‘It’s Corona, so it can’t be helped.’ There were many baseball games and music festivals."

On Kazuchika Okada vs. Tetsuya Naito match from the recent Wrestling Dontaku show as the best of the year: "Okada and Tetsuya Naito had a match that I thought was the best bout of the year. I really wanted everyone who came to the event to say, ‘That was a great match,’ and to leave on the way home with a happy feeling in their hearts."
