At the NJPW G1 Climax 29 event over the weekend, former NXT Superstar Hideo Itami, now performing again under the name KENTA, joined The Bullet Club.
The angle went down during a match between KENTA, YOSHI-HASHI and Tomohiro Ishii vs. The Bullet Club (Bad Luck Fale & The Guerillas of Destiny).
KENTA would never interact with The Bullet Club during the match, nor was he ever tagged in. As Ishii finally went to tag him in, KENTA jumped off the apron and left him hanging as the match continued.
A few minutes later, KENTA hit the ring and blasted his own partner Ishii with a running knee, which set up the finish of the match where Tama Tonga pinned Ishii to give The Bullet Club the victory.
After the match ended, Katsuyori Shibata ran in and attacked KENTA to a roar from the fans in attendance, however the numbers game eventually played against him as The Bullet Club, with their newest member KENTA, ganged up and beat down Shibata with kendo sticks.
KENTA then gave the "Too Sweet" hand gesture while sitting cross-legged on a beaten down Shibata.
After the show, KENTA surfaced on Twitter to confirm he has, in fact, aligned with The Bullet Club faction.
