Seth Rollins suffered an injury last night at WWE Saturday Night's Main Event that not only prematurely ended his match against LA Knight but led to a finish that wasn't planned as Rollins was originally scripted to go over.
PWinsiderelite.com reports that while some online speculation has suggested that Rollins may have been in line to cash in his Money in the Bank briefcase had he stayed healthy, that was never the plan. Other outlets have also reported that Rollins' injury led to "something" being changed later in the program, but this report notes that the only change that took place was the finish of Rollins-Knight as those involved essentially called an audible and went straight to the finish with Knight winning the match.
Meanwhile, Dave Meltzer of f4wonline.com reported on Wrestling Observer Radio that he heard from one source who didn't rule out that the injury was a work suggesting that some people heard about the injury as early as Thursday, but cautioned that it was only one person and the general consensus backstage is that it is not a work.
On a related note, PWInsiderelite.com reports that the plan was also for Goldberg to lose his retirement match against Gunther all along. Gunther's SummerSlam plans were already locked in prior to this weekend and that whomever he is scheduled to work a match with, the storyline to get that going is expected to start either this week on Raw or next week. Seth Rollins - before or after his injury - was never part of those plans.
