Monday Night Raw Quick Recap for 5/31/2021

Matches Tonight: 10!
  • Nikki Cross defeated Charlotte Flair by surviving the two minutes required in a Beat-the-Clock match.
  • Our second match saw Randy Orton defeat Xavier Woods using the Bro Derek--finishing Woods with Riddle's finisher just as Riddle finished Woods last week with the RKO.
  • Reginald the Sommelier defeated Shayna Baszler after a distraction from the mystery red corner pyro (Alexa Bliss, though she did not make an appearance this time). Entertaining, especially as it showcased Reginald's agility and unique offensive style to some extent.
  • Mace & T-Bar defeated the Lucha House Party in a short, but decent match.
  • Ricochet defeated United States Champion Sheamus in non-title action thanks to a distraction caused by Humberto Carrillo.
  • Humberto Carrillo defeated United States Champion Sheamus in non-title action thanks to a distraction caused by Ricochet. During the match, Carrillo hit Sheamus so hard it broke his nose and the champ finished the match bloodied a bit.
  • In a Women's Division tag match, the team of Naomi & Lana lost to the team of Mandy Rose & Dana Brooke as both teams look to become the next contender for the Women's Tag Team Championships.
  • Shelton Benjamin lost to Cedric Alexander in a rematch from last week. It was less than a minute long and if Benjamin hadn't lost due to an illegal eye jab from Cedric, it'd have been a squash match.
  • In a match for the Raw Tag Team Championship, reigning champions AJ Styles & Omos defeated the team of Elias & Jaxson Ryker. Elias walked off mid-match, abandoning Jaxson Ryker and causing obvious tension between the two.
  • Our main event between Drew McIntyre and Kofi Kingston, to determine the challenger for WWE Champion Bobby Lashley at Hell in a Cell in three weeks, saw Drew McIntyre win to advance to another championship opportunity. Very solid match to end the second decent Raw in a row. Definitely worth watching and Kofi shined, as usual (when given the chance).
Miscellaneous Non-Match Segments of Note:
  • Miz TV featured Charlotte Flair and Raw Women's Champion Rhea Ripley, and (unexpectedly) Nikki Cross. This set up a match between Cross and Flair tonight.
  • More hints at Orton turning on Riddle (as they do with every Orton partnership, ever).
  • Odd moment in which Elias may have offended Ryker with a comment about serving in battle.
  • Alexa Bliss invited Reginald the Sommelier to come to Alexa's Playground
  • Kofi Kingston wore ring gear & ring jacket themed after the Green Ranger from Mighty Morphin' Power Rangers (aka the best Power Rangers, hands down).
  • On Alexa's Playground, Reginald was attacked by Shayna Baszler before he could speak. Shayna told Bliss that Bliss is becoming a problem, and they're going to have a talk next week before things get out of hand.
  • Elias stated his reason for turning on Ryker was that he didn't want to spend hours riding with Ryker when they return on the road.
  • It's official: Drew McIntyre will face WWE Champion Bobby Lashley at Hell in a Cell for the title.
