Monday Night Raw Quick Recap for 7/19/2021

Matches Tonight: Eight!
  • Six-Man Tag Team Match: the Viking Raiders & Riddle vs Raw Tag Team Champions AJ Styles & Omos and John Morrison. Due to a smart distraction that saw Riddle blast Omos from behind with the Miz's Dripstick--and thereby turning Omos on his own partners--the Viking Raiders & Riddle picked up the win after a solid, exciting opening match. 8:16-8:29pm EST.
  • Symphony of Destruction Match: Elias vs Jaxson Ryker. Entertaining match that saw Ryker pick up the win with a beautiful Superplex through two tables outside the ring to finish their feud (hopefully). 8:36-8:49pm EST.
  • Non-Title Women's Tag Team Match: WWE Women's Tag Team Champions Natalya & Tamina vs Nia Jax & Shayna Baszler w/ Reginald the Sommelier. After yet another Reginald-caused distraction on his friend Shayna Baszler, the reigning champs picked up the easy win in a rather delightful, albeit slow-at-first match. 9:10-9:19pm EST.
  • Non-Title Championship Contender's Singles Match: United States Champion Sheamus vs Humberto Carrillo. By picking up the loss, Carrillo failed to earn the number one contender's spot in a fantastic match and great effort against US Champ Sheamus. 9:29-9:39pm EST.
  • WWE Championship Open Challenge Match: WWE Champion Bobby Lashley(c) vs Keith Lee. A slow but solid, and short, match that saw Lashley pick up the clean win over a returning Lee. 9:57-10:06pm EST.
  • Non-Title, Cross-Brand Singles Match: NXT Champion Karrion Kross vs Jeff Hardy. In another upset on the night, Jeff Hardy defeated the debuting Karrion Kross by way of Hardy's feet on the middle ropes. 10:24-10:28
  • Raw Women's Championship Main Event Rematch: Charlotte Flair(c) vs Rhea Ripley. Ripley . 10:45-11:00pm EST.
  • Raw Women's Championship Money in the Bank Cash-in Match: Charlotte Flair(c) vs Nikki A.S.H. (fka Nikki Cross). Cross, with Ripley's approval, hit the ring at 11:01pm and cashed in her MitB contract, connecting with her Cross Body finisher to put away the battered queen and pick up her new shiny championship! 11:00-11:01pm EST.
Miscellaneous Non-Match Segments of Note:
  • Show-Opening C-Note: As reported earlier today, John Cena opened Raw to explain his actions last night at Money in the Bank. He explained the WWE Universe brought him back, and he came back to knock Reigns down a few pegs in light of his recently "over-rated" behavior. Cena will appear on SmackDown this Friday to address Reigns.
  • Royal Coronation: In honor of her victory over former champion Rhea Ripley, newly-crowned Raw Women's Champion Charlotte Flair had her own royal coronation segment.
  • Announcements: Dallas will host next year's WrestleMania.
  • New 24/7 Champion: After being attacked by former-friend Nia Jax (after he, once again, caused a distraction to Baszler and thereby cost Big & Nasty a match, again), Reginald the Sommelier experienced an immediate reversal of luck when he was able to roll-up 24/7 Champion Akira Tozawa and steal the title before excitedly fleeing to the back.
  • Alexa's Playground: Our special guest tonight was .
  • Tick, Tock!: NXT Champion Karrion Kross made his Raw debut tonight.
  • A Limitless Return: Keith Lee returned, answering WWE Champion Bobby Lashley's open challenge in a surprising, and clean, losing effort.
  • Yet Another Shocking Return: Bill Goldberg returned tonight, challenging Bobby Lashley for his WWE Championship in a return literally no one saw coming. For what it's worth--internet smarks may hate him, but Goldberg got the loudest pop and chants of the night. Maybe its a Texas thing?
  • Special SmackDown Edition: John Cena will appear on SmackDown live from Cleveland this Friday night, and we'll have special matches live from the Rolling Loud festival in Florida.
