-- There have been multiple reports about the chaos surrounding the men's Royal Rumble match with constant changes happening throughout the day and even during the match itself with both Vince and Shane McMahon responsible for the changes. Fightfulselect confirms the reports of Shane being "heavily involved" and responsible for many of the late changes with one source indicating that even apart from the Shane stuff, it was one of the most "frustrating and stressful" experiences of their WWE careers. Vince reportedly changed the order of entrants and sometimes the wrestler going out had no idea who they were supposed to be eliminating.
-- Andrew Zarian of the Mat Men Podcast specifically referenced changes with what number Bad Bunny was going to come out in and said that this upset a lot of people backstage because they didn't want to come across bad to a major outside star like Bunny.
-- The women's Royal Rumble didn't escape criticism as some participants called the match a "mess" with morale already low - mainly because veteran Tyson Kidd/TJ Wilson was not involved in producing the match as he has in years past. Fit Finlay was brought back to help and Kidd has reportedly not even been producing any matches as of late but is still officially with WWE. Not only was Wilson's absence felt by many of the women in the match, one star who was contacted to participate declined once they learned that Wilson would not be producing. Other people backstage criticized the match feeling that WWE should have included more contracted talent rather than bringing in past veterans, with one talent saying it was "complete chaos."
