More Details On WWE Choosing Seth Rollins vs. GUNTHER For WrestleMania 42 Over Bron Breakker

According to Dave Meltzer in the latest edition of the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, Seth Rollins is scheduled to face GUNTHER at WrestleMania 42. This change follows a reported shift in WWE's creative plans, moving away from a previously anticipated feud involving Rollins and Bron Breakker. Meltzer noted that this decision came after an incident on WWE RAW, where Rollins attacked Paul Heyman with a chair and a stomp, and GUNTHER subsequently appeared and choked Rollins out. That moment was already planned as part of the show's storyline development.

Initially, many fans speculated that Breakker was absent from the storyline due to recovery from surgery. However, Meltzer clarified that Breakker had been cleared to compete a few weeks ago. WWE simply decided not to rush the Rollins vs. Breakker match and intended to build towards it later.

WWE had originally planned for Rollins to face Logan Paul, setting that matchup in motion during Elimination Chamber when Rollins interfered to cost Paul the match. Meanwhile, GUNTHER was expected to face WWE Hall of Famer Rey Mysterio at WrestleMania 42. However, after Bronson Reed suffered a torn biceps, WWE opted to switch to the Rollins vs. GUNTHER matchup and shifted Paul and Austin Theory into a six-man tag match alongside iShowSpeed against The Usos and LA Knight.

GUNTHER has been positioned strongly, boasting victories over AJ Styles and John Cena. This new feud with Rollins keeps him in a top spot as WWE builds towards WrestleMania 42, where Roman Reigns will go up against CM Punk. Meltzer also speculated that Breakker could interfere in the Rollins vs. GUNTHER match to help maintain GUNTHER's unbeaten streak this year, setting him up to face the winner of the Punk vs. Reigns match.
