NJPW New Japan Cup Results (03/09): SANADA vs. Tomohiro Ishii

NJPW recently held the continuation of the first round of the NJPW New Japan Cup Tournament with Yuji Nagata vs. Yota Tsuji as the co-main event and SANADA vs. Tomohiro Ishii as the main event. The final match of the NJPW New Japan Cup Tournament takes place on March 21st, with the winner earning a title shot at the IWGP World Heavyweight Champion Kota Ibushi at Sakura Genesis on April 4th.

Below are the full results of the show:

- EVIL, Bad Luck Fale and Yujiro Takahashi def. YOSHI-HASHI, Toru Yano and Yuya Uemura.

- Great-O-Khan, Will Ospreay and Jeff Cobb def. Satoshi Kojima, Tomoaki Honma and Gabriel Kidd.

- Hiroshi Tanahashi, Juice Robinson, David Finlay and Jeff Cobb def. Jay White, KENTA, Chase Owens and Gedo.

- Kazuchika Okada, Hirooki Goto and SHO defeated Shingo Takagi, Tetsuya Naito and BUSHI.

- Yuji Nagata def. Yota Tsuji in a NJPW New Japan Cup Match.

- SANADA def. Tomohiro Ishii in a NJPW New Japan Cup Match.

The NJPW New Japan Cup Tournament continues this coming Wednesday with the last three remaining first round matches featuring David Finlay vs. Chase Owens, YOSHI-HASHI vs. Yujiro Takahashi and Toa Henare vs. Jay White. Below is the updated bracket:
