Oba Femi has been holding it down as NXT Champion since January 2025, and his next big test is just around the corner. On May 25th, he'll defend his title at NXT Battleground against Myles Borne.
As the match approaches, Femi's been making the rounds with the media. During a recent interview with Jim Varsallone, the champ opened up about something that's been on his mind — a potential move into the world of MMA.
“See, that piques my interest,” Femi said when the topic came up. “I actually do have some interest in doing that and if it’s convenient and I have the opportunity to, I would definitely jump on it… TKO,” he added with a laugh.
It’s not as far-fetched as it sounds. WWE and UFC both operate under the TKO Group Holdings banner, and there's been plenty of crossover between the two worlds already — fighters and wrestlers showing up on each other’s shows, blending the lines between the sports. Femi stepping into an MMA cage one day? It might just be a matter of time.
