Chelsea Green was absent from the June 13th edition of SmackDown, and while WWE provided an on-air explanation, the real reason for her absence was far more serious.
WWE presented a storyline where Green simply didn’t show up to the arena and was replaced. However, sources indicate that she was actually dealing with a painful sinus infection that resulted in partial hearing loss, prompting a visit to the emergency room. She was pulled from travel and did not make the trip to Lexington, Kentucky, for the show.
Green had been battling through a broken nose in the weeks prior—an injury that required her to wear a protective face mask during appearances—and was reportedly willing to continue working despite it. She had originally been scheduled for a Queen of the Ring match, but plans were quietly changed due to the medical setback. It's important to note that the sinus issue was unrelated to the broken nose.
Green made a swift recovery and returned to SmackDown the following week. We're told WWE producers were impressed with how quickly she rebounded and praised her toughness behind the scenes.
