AJ Styles' contract with WWE was expected to expire at the beginning of 2025 but it was extended after he reportedly signed a one-year agreement that now takes him through Royal Rumble 2026 or approximately February of next year.
Prior to signing that extension though, it appears as if Styles was testing the waters at a possible post-WWE career as Jon Alba of SI's Takedown reported that his sources noted that Styles put out "feelers" outside the company, specifically generating "major interest" on the convention circuit from promotions while noting that the interest was definitely exploratory, if not mutual. It's unclear if Styles was looking into wrestling for any other wrestling promotions, however.
Styles' future in WWE has come under fire as of late after the multi-time champion posted an image of an hour glass on Instagram suggesting that his time as a wrestler is coming to an end. Interestingly, one fan replied to the post saying they were pissed off at the way Triple H was disrespecting Styles and one of the responses to that was from Styles' son, Ajay, who stated: "you ain't the only one man" in a now-deleted reply.
