Rey Fenix makes a cryptic comment while still under contract with AEW.
The Lucha Bro has not wrestled for Tony Khan's promotion since July and is expected to sign with WWE whenever his current contract expires. However, Fenix's brother, Penta El Zero Miedo, is currently a free agent, and had previously spoken about his plan to join WWE, along with Fenix, due to their frustration in AEW. On Saturday December 7th, Fenix wrote the following on X (formerly known as Twitter).
"No one stays in a place where they received inhumane treatment."
Fenix's contract expired roughly the same time as Penta's, but time was added to his contract due to a slew of injuries he suffered during his time in AEW. He has been signed to the promotion since its inception in 2019, and is a former one-time AEW tag team champion, one-time trios champion, and one-time Continental Champion.
