Rumors continue to make the rounds that Sting, 64, will be retiring from the squared circle after one final match at the upcoming All Elite Wrestling premium live event scheduled for this August.
Sting appeared at the AEW & NJPW: The Forbidden Door 2 post-show press conference in Toronto, Ontario, Canada on Sunday and addressed the reports that he will be retiring from pro wrestling after a swan song at the AEW ALL IN 2023 show at Wembley Stadium in London, England.
“I have not decided on a date, for sure," Sting said. "A lot of people have actually wondered if I was going to retire at Wembley. That would be kind of cool, but I don’t see that happening. I think I’m going to continue on. Tony has been in my ear here and there saying, ‘Steve, you can stay as long as you want.’"
He continued, "I’m not sure how long that will be, but like I said a few months ago, Showtime is just about over with, and it truly is, but I’m looking forward to going back to London. Last time I was there, I was Joker Sting, the crowd loved it there and it was not the big stadium, but still a great crowd. I’m looking forward to heading back over there."
