WWE previously revealed that they will be holding this year's SummerSlam Event on August 21, which is a Saturday, and that got the entire wrestling world as well as the WWE Universe speculating as to why WWE decided to hold the 2021 SummerSlam Event on a Saturday, instead of the traditional Sunday night.
There were online reports that noted that Allegiant Stadium in Las Vegas, Nevada wanted this date for SummerSlam and while WWE did not make a decision on where SummerSlam will take place, they still went forward with the date. A post from a top RAW Star has even added fuel to this rumored location as RAW Star Asuka took to Twitter and posted a picture of herself inside the Allegiant Stadium in Las Vegas, which is where the Raiders play. Asuka also posted an emoji along with the photo.
Asuka's post has led people to believe that this year's SummerSlam PPV will be taking place from this venue, but this was clearly something Asuka posted by accident as it is possible that she was just at the stadium to film something for the SummerSlam venue announcement later on today. WWE revealed that the venue for this year's SummerSlam PPV will officially be announced during the 2021 Belmont Stakes’ Pre-race Show on NBC later on today.
