Two Huge Matches Set For Next Week’s SmackDown, Daniel Bryan To Put His Career On The Line

WWE recently announced that two big matches are set to take place on next week's SmackDown. First, it was announced that WWE Universal Champion Roman Reigns will defend his title against Daniel Bryan and that Bryan will put his career on the line, but it wasn’t made 100% clear if he will still be allowed to compete on RAW or if Daniel Bryan has to leave the WWE entirely as it was only said that Bryan has to leave the blue brand.

Last night’s SmackDown saw Cesaro patiently wait for an answer from the Universal Champion in regards to his challenge. Daniel Bryan was constantly pressuring Reigns to accept, and pressuring Adam Pearce to grant Cesaro the title shot. Later in the show, Roman Reigns confronted Cesaro and Bryan and flat-out denied Cesaro’s request, but Reigns challenged Bryan to a match on next week’s SmackDown and said that he is tired of seeing Daniel Bryan and wants him to vanish from SmackDown, so Reigns granted him a title match for next week but said if he retains, he no longer wants to see Bryan on his show.

It was also announced that next week’s SmackDown will feature a rematch from WrestleMania 37 when Big E challenges WWE Intercontinental Champion Apollo Crews for his title. Crews won the title from Big E at WrestleMania 37 Night Two, with an assist from Commander Azeez.

Last night’s SmackDown saw Adam Pearce book Kevin Owens vs. Crews, but noting that Big E will receive his title shot when he is cleared. Crews ended up retaining over Owens after interference from Azeez. Later in the show, Big E attacked Crews backstage while Azeez was not in his corner. It would then be confirmed that Big E will face Apollo Crews next Friday on SmackDown with the title on the line.
