-- Drew McIntyre has been absent from WWE TV since WrestleMania, with an injury and clouded contract situation dominating the reasons explaining the absence. In the latest Wrestling Observer Newsletter, it was clarified that McIntyre's return to WWE TV is now more a "creative issue" than anything else boiling down to what WWE wants to do, what he wants and when the two sides agree to it.
-- Regarding McIntyre leaving WWE, that remains uncertain but the time that he has been out of action recently can be used by WWE to freeze and extend his contract if they want - just as the company has done in the past for multiple other wrestlers who weren't interested in re-signing. As of this time, there are no reports that McIntyre has even expressed to desire to leave WWE but the two sides have yet to agree on a new contract which is believed to be expiring at the end of 2023. The Observer suggested that McIntyre has an "obvious spot" to return as a heel to challenge Seth Rollins, as it is assumed the latter will be the new World Heavyweight champion.
