The road to AEW & NJPW: The Forbidden Door 2022 pay-per-view continues to wind down.
On Tuesday, All Elite Wrestling released one of the final promotional pieces related to the highly-anticipated cross-promotional pay-per-view event in conjunction with New Japan Pro Wrestling.
The company dropped their "AEW Road To KC" special on their official YouTube channel today for Wednesday night's edition of the weekly two-hour AEW on TBS television program, which emanates near Kansas City at the Cable Dahmer Arena in Independence, Missouri.
The video features new comments from CM Punk, who follows up on his emotional huge announcement from last week's post-Double Or Nothing 2022 edition of AEW Rampage on TNT, which saw him reveal an injury that will force him to be on the sidelines long enough that AEW will be crowning an Interim AEW Champion during his hiatus.
In addition to the new comments from "The Best in the World" addressing his unfortunate current situation, the "AEW Road To KC" special also gives fans a closer look at in-ring action scheduled for the 6/8 installment of AEW Dynamite on TBS.
On tap for one of the last AEW Dynamite shows leading up to the aforementioned AEW & NJPW: The Forbidden Door joint-PPV on 6/26 is the start of the AEW Title Eliminator Series, with the scheduled Battle Royal opening the show to determine who will square off against Jon Moxley in the AEW Title Eliminator Series main event of the evening.
