World Title Match Announced For Upcoming GCW Homecoming Event

What could arguably be labeled as the biggest match to be announced in GCW (Game Changer Wrestling) history has been officially announced for the upcoming Saturday, July 24th, 2021 "GCW Homecoming (Night One) Event!

Matt Cardona's MWF Podcast Crashed By Nick Gage

Earlier in the evening of Friday, June 11th, (prior to the match announcement) Nick Gage was seen crashing the Major Wrestling Figure Podcast live-stream event which aired from the Jimmy's Famous Seafood establishment located in Baltimore, Maryland, the podcast was being hosted by both Matt Cardona & Brian Myers.

As seen in the video, Nick Gage can be seen attempting to forcefully enter the room where the MWF Podcast was currently being live-streamed from. Gage was then seen looking for Cardona as he forcefully fought past security and briefly had words with Cardona, until security was able to successfully remove Gage from the premises.

The Championship Title Match Announcement

The MFW Podcast finished up without anymore "surprises", though shortly thereafter, GCW took the opportunity to make their huge title-match announcement. In their statement, they announced that Nick Gage will defend the GCW World Championship title against Matt Cardona in a bout set to take place at the upcoming GCW Homecoming (Night One) event which will be held on Saturday, July 24th, 2021 at The Showboat in Atlantic City, NJ.

Not long after the match was made official, Cardona took to his social media platform to deliver a short but to-the-point message which read,

"I’m ready to be a GRAND SLAM CHAMPION! See ya at Homecoming Nicky! You’ve f***ed with the wrong Broski."

Previously, In The Cardona/Gage Feud

As previously reported here at Rajah.com, this wasn't the first bomb dropped in the on-going Cardona/Gage saga. As a matter-of-fact, the MFW Podcast crashing on Friday, June 11th was far from the "tip of the iceberg".

Many loyal GCW fans will recall that during last weekend's Sunday, June 6th, 2021 event held by Game Changer Wrestling under the title, "Zombie Walk" showed Cardona crashing Nick Gage's celebration in-ring following his title match against Jimmy Floyd. The GCW event took place in Atlantic City, New Jersey on 6/6 which showed Cardona attacked Gage inside the GCW ring (directly after Gage retained his title over Jimmy Lloyd in their title match-up!).

Unbeknownst to the fans in attendance, with his best Moxley mannerisms, Cardona hit the ring dressed as a druid (playing off Moxley's recent attack on Gage). Cardona mimicked Moxley's movements and then proceeded to drop Gage using Moxley’s signature Paradigm Shift DDT. Immediately after, Cardona removed his mask to reveal his identity to a crowd of fans going crazy with heel heat! Ultimately the segment ended with Cardona raising the GCW World Title belt in the air.

GCW's Upcoming Two-Night Event Details

With the GCW Heavyweight Championship Match on the card for "Night One" of the GCW Homecoming Event, GCW will hold a second night of the event as well with both nights taking place at The Showboat in Atlantic City, New Jersey. The Showboat is located at: 801 Boardwalk, Atlantic City, NJ 08401. Night One is set to air LIVE on Saturday, July 24th, 2021 from 8:00p.m. until 11:00p.m. (Eastern TIme) and Night Two of the event will immediately follow the next night, on Sunday, July 25th, 2021 airing from 8:00p.m. until 11:00p.m. (Eastern Time). Both nights of the two-night event will be available for purchase on FITE.TV for those unable to attend.
