WWE The Bump Recap (11/10): Hit Row, Beth Phoenix

It’s Wednesday, and that means it’s time for another edition of WWE’s The Bump!

Today’s episode is full of top notch guests, including Smackdown trio Hit Row, and NXT 2.0 color commentator Beth Phoenix.

Now that we’re all caught up on what’s going down, let’s take a look at The Bump:

WWE’s The Bump

⁃ Kayla starts off the show, and tells the viewers “we have a really exciting show on tap for you today.”
⁃ The rest of The Bump crew share a few general thoughts on all of the latest action in WWE, until Kayla brings on the first guest.

Beth Phoenix

Former WWE Divas Champion and a three-time WWE Women's Champion Beth Phoenix joins The Bump crew, and Ryan brings up Beth’s new album, Beth Copeland: Stone, Rose, and Bone. Phoenix talks about her inspiration behind the idea, and tells The Bump crew “ so, prior to working for WWE, I funded my wrestling habit as a pianist. I was in the wedding singer business! So yeah I’ve played piano since I was five years old, and I feel like music is a big therapy for me, so I just thought it would be nice to release this album and make everyone feel a little better.” Kayla follows up by asking Beth how it feels to know she put so much hard work into something, and have it pay off. Phoenix says “what an amazing experience, I’ve never gotten to record things like that. Jeremy Borash put so much time and effort into a video for a song on the album. I wondered if people would laugh at me, but I just said ‘freakin go for it,’ you know? You only live one time.” Kayla also wonders when the piano first sparked Beth’s interest, and if she ever thought she would actually release an album. Beth says “no, I never expected it. The piano funded me for so long, I started lessons at five years old. It was the greatest gift I was ever given. My grandma worked very hard to get me lessons, and I’m so thankful for that.” Kayla thanks the WWE Hall of Famer for her time, and the show moves on to the next guest’s.

⁃ The Bump crew reflect on last night’s NXT, until Kayla welcomes the next guest into the studio.

Hit Row

Before the interview begins, Kayla takes Hit Row back to last Friday, where the group had a run in with Sami Zayn. After the clip, Kayla asks Top Dolla if he believes Sami got the message they were sending him. The big man explains “I think we got our message across to everyone. He was just a casualty of war. We tried to show him respect, and he didn’t show it to us.” Kayla points out that Sami Zayn has been acting much differently over the past few months, and asks the group if they think Sami is full of himself. Top Dolla answers first, and says “we know he is. Sami is a cool guy, every aspect is great, but him telling us we could learn from him... we take offense to that.” Matt brings up Sami’s comments to the group, and points out that Zayn said Hit Row could be a “pillar of Smackdown.” Matt wonders how much that means to the group, and Top Dolla explains “it means alot. We planned on being the face of WWE, the face of the new era, and we plan on taking this business over. It all starts with the first opportunity.” Kayla thanks Hit Row for their time, and the final interview of the day comes to a close.

⁃ Matt, and Ryan hype tomorrow’s episode of NXT UK, until The Bump goes off air.

That’s all for this week’s episode of The Bump! Thanks for stopping by, and have a great rest of your day.
