WWE Confirms Fight Pit II Is Off NXT New Year's Evil Special Due To Timothy Thatcher Suffering Injury

It is now official -- there will NOT be a Fight Pit match at the NXT New Year's Evil 2021 special event later this evening.

We reported the news here on Wednesday morning that the advertised Fight Pit II showdown between Tommaso Ciampa and Timothy Thatcher was likely being pulled from tonight's black-and-gold brand special event.

The news has since been confirmed by WWE.

Earlier this afternoon, the company released a video via their official YouTube channel that confirmed that due to a minor injury that Thatcher sustained, NXT General Manager William Regal has announced that due to the brutal nature of the Fight Pit matches, the Ciampa-Thatcher bout is off tonight's NXT New Year's Evil 2021 show and will be re-booked for another show at a later date and time.
