WWE's WrestleMania 42 card has been in flux as of late but according to one report, the WWE Title match with Drew McIntyre defending might be close to be locked in. Only two matches are currently confirmed with CM Punk defending the World Heavyweight Title against Roman Reigns and Stephanie Vaquer facing Liv Morgan for the Women's World Title.
In the latest Wrestling Observer Newsletter, Dave Meltzer noted that Cody Rhodes being involved in the match against Drew McIntyre is a "virtual lock", however, he stopped short of saying whether it would be a singles match or one that would involve three or more wrestlers.
Meltzer shared that within WWE circles, there has been a frustration at the possibility of another singles match between Rhodes and McIntyre with some people feeling that that bout has been exhausted with three singles match in recent times, including two on WWE premium live events making that storyline too predictable.
The possibility of adding Jacob Fatu to make it a triple threat is one option WWE is apparently considering but there is also a chance it could be expanded to include Randy Orton or Sami Zayn but the latter situation is "not being talked about" right now. Meltzer also speculated that while the direction hasn't been revealed publicly with Elimination Chamber still to go down tomorrow, internally he believes WWE has already decided what the title match will be.
