-- WWE and AEW both recently made key hirings, landing executives to at least partly replace key departures from each company.
-- AEW hired Kosha Irby as their new Chief Operating Officer. Irby is a former WWE employee who once served as a Regional Director of Live Events for the company for seven years between 2011 and 2018. Irby had most recently been working as the Chief Marketing Officer for the Clemson University Athletic Department. The hiring of Irby comes after AEW lost their VP & Chief Marketing Officer Rafael Morffi and their Chief Marketing & Merchandising Officer Dana Massie.
-- WWE also filed a significant role this week, hiring Lee Fitting as their Head of Media & Production. Lee comes from ESPN after a 25 year career, where he oversaw production for tentpole properties including Monday Night Football, College GameDay, the College Football Playoff, and many other properties within the Disney portfolio. While not a 1-for-1 replacement, Fitting joins WWE soon after Kevin Dunn, WWE's former Executive Producer and Chief of Global Television Distribution, gave in his resignation at the end of 2023.
