WWE Issues Statement Saying Rob Gronkowski Still Has To Defend The 24/7 Title

WWE issued the following press release on Twitter congratulating current 24/7 champion Rob Gronkowski on his return to the NFL. It was revealed earlier today that Gronk will be joining former teammate Tom Brady in Tampa Bay as a member of the Buccaneers for the 2020/2021 season. WWE does mention that since he still carries the 24/7 title...he will still need to defend it.

Congratulations to @RobGronkowski, the current WWE 24/7 Champion, on his return to football. Per the rules of the 24/7 Title, Gronk must defend his championship at all times in any location. He could be celebrating a touchdown pass from @TomBrady... anytime, anywhere.

Gronk worked as the host for this year's WrestleMania 36 along with Mojo Rawley. He won the 24/7 championship from Rawley on night two of the "Show of Shows."
