-- Cody Rhodes finished his story last night at WrestleMania 40 by defeating Roman Reigns and the win was extra special as Rhodes revealed following the event. Speaking at the Night Two press conference, Rhodes stated that he was gifted a special gold Rolex by members of WWE's executive team - Paul Levesque, Nick Khan and Bruce Prichard. Rhodes then want to further reveal that it was the exact same watch that his father - the late Dusty Rhodes - once owned but pawned in order to send Cody to acting school.
"Something that I wanted to share - I came to the back, and Bruce Prichard and Triple H and Nick Khan handed me this, which is the same watch that my dad had that he pawned so that I could go to acting school. So the level of investment and responsibility that the company just put in my hands, I hope I can pay it back, pay it forward a hundred times over."
-- Levesque stated that the idea to get Rhodes the watch was Khan's and that it was Prichard who went out and hunted it down. He said that the trio wanted to get Rhodes something to signify that Dusty was here when Rhodes finally won the title and finished his story.
-- When Dusty passed away in 2015, Cody published his eulogy where he stated that Dusty had once told him that he could have the gold Rolex when he won the World Title but he only later found out about the watching being pawned away in order to send him to acting school.
