WWE Announces King & Queen of the Ring PLE & Smackdown Headed to Saudi Arabia in May

-- During last night's WWE WrestleMania 40, a short video clip aired that revealed that next month, WWE will be headed back to Saudi Arabia to hold back-to-back shows on Friday and Saturday, May 24 and May 25. The Friday show will WWE's usual Smackdown program while on Saturday, the company will present a brand new premium live event titled WWE King & Queen of the Ring. The city of Jeddah in Saudi Arabia will play host to both events.

-- This will be the first time WWE's King of the Ring will be held since 2021 while there has never been a Queen of the Ring tournament though WWE did present a Queen's Crown alongside King of the Ring in 2021. In 2023, there were several reports that WWE was going to hold the King & Queen of the Ring tournaments in Saudi Arabia but those plans were scrapped for unknown reasons.

-- As for Friday Night Smackdown, this will be the first time WWE holds one of their flagship TV shows in Saudi Arabia as historically, the company has taped the show a week prior in the United States in order to make the travel logistics work.
