As noted earlier today, Nikki Bella is reportedly out of WrestleMania 42 this weekend after being medically ruled out due to her ankle injury. That initially meant that the Bellas (Nikki and Brie) were out of the Women's Tag Team match which was scheduled to be a Fatal Four-Way and it wasn't known if WWE would move forward the match as a Triple Threat or add another team in place of the Bellas.
It turns out there is a third option and it's a big one.
PWInsider.com is reporting that Saraya Jade-Bevis, known in WWE circles as Paige and formerly in AEW as Saraya, has signed with WWE to return at WrestleMania 42. More surprising is the fact that the report notes that Paige has signed a wrestlers contract and is believed to be returning as a substitute for the injured Nikki Bella - a scenario that once seemed impossible after WWE disqualified Paige from ever wrestling again due to repeated neck injuries.
The report adds that WWE flew Paige into Las Vegas secretly and while they have done a good job keeping her hidden from the public, she was seen going through a run through for the tag title matches earlier this week. WWE has of course not commented or confirmed this.
