WWE Reportedly Releases NXT Star Josiah Williams

According to Fightful Select, WWE recently released NXT Star Josiah Williams as part of the cuts this week made by the company. In April of 2019, Williams initially signed his WWE contract, but was later released in April of 2020 along with the previous budget cut releases made by the company. Josiah was then brought back in September of 2020 and has been with the company until he was let go this week.

Prior to signing with the WWE, Williams made a name for himself with his “Wrestle & Flow” brand. Most of his work for the WWE was done with the WWE NXT brand and the WWE Performance Center. Williams most recently did the theme song for Cameron Grimes and has also done the entrance theme song for AEW Star Shawn Spears.

The biggest moment of Josiah Williams' time in the WWE took place at the NXT TakeOver XXV Event, when he performed a remix of Adam Cole’s theme song while accompanying him down to the ring for Cole's win over Johnny Gargano for the NXT Title. As of this writing, the WWE has yet to confirm Josiah Williams being released from the company, but updates will be provided as it becomes available.
