WWE Friday Night SmackDown Quick Recap for 5/28/2021
Matches Tonight: 6
- The Usos defeated the Street Profits in a 30+ minute, excellent match. Both teams put on a great show and the Usos didn't look rusty after a fourteen-month hiatus.
- In a very short but highly entertaining match, Women's Tag Team Champions Natalya & Tamina defeated the Riott Squad.
- SmackDown Women's Champion Bianca Belair defeated Carmella in a non-title's match.
- In a three minute match, Kevin Owens defeated Intercontinental Champion Apollo Crews (with Cmdr. Azeez) by disqualification but did not regain the title.
- King Shinsuke Nakamura defeated Chad Gable in a short match. Gable put on a valid effort but found his offense coming up short.
- In our main event, the Mysterios defeated the Dirty Dawgs to retain their titles. Dominik was forced to fight two-on-one due to Rey having been jumped during the break prior to the match.
Miscellaneous Non-Match Segments of Note:
- A special Miz TV will take place this Monday on Raw, featuring Raw Women's Champion Rhea Ripley.
- Next Week on SmackDown: the Usos will take on the winners of tonight's SmackDown Tag Team Championship Match (above). Kevin Owens will get another Intercontinental Championship match, with Commander Azeez barred from ringside.
- Bayley continued to mock and antagonize Bianca Belair, and berated Michael Cole for a verbal blunder (he called the champ "Biyonka").
- Seth Rollins cut a promo on Cesaro, promising to destroy him for daring to attempt to look through/past Rollins and assume he (Cesaro) was owed a title opportunity when he's not worthy.
- The Usos confronted the Mysterios as SmackDown ended--both teams clash next week.
