WWE United States Champion Bobby Lashley Shows Interest In Fight Pit Match

WWE United States Champion Bobby Lashley has been on a winning streak as of late, but he seems to not be contended with just being the United States Champion and winning regular and championship matches. During his recent interview with Sports Illustrated, Bobby Lashley revealed he would be interested in doing a Fight Pit style match.

Lashley said, “I thought the United States title was perceived for a long time as just another title, but it has so many great names behind it. I’m legit as it gets and I take a lot of pride in defending this title, especially against guys like Matt Riddle and Keith Lee. I saw Riddle’s idea for a Fight Pit and I’d love to do something like that for the U.S. Title, it won’t change the outcome, but it would be a lot of fun.”

So far, there have been a couple of Fight Pit Matches in NXT, one featuring Timothy Thatcher vs. Matt Riddle with Kurt Angle as the special guest referee and the second also features Timothy Thatcher but this time vs. Tommaso Ciampa. Both Fight Pit Matches saw Thatcher come out of the match with the win.

Aside from his successful pro wrestling career, Bobby Lashley is also an MMA fighter and has competed in Bellator MMA. He holds a professional MMA record of 15 wins and 2 losses and last competed against Josh Appelt in October of 2016.

While speaking with Sports Illustrated, Bobby Lashley also opened up about The Hurt Business, wanting to work with WWE Champion Drew McIntyre, and more.
