On the unmerited side of news, WWE has issued a legal letter to Wrestling-News.com for using the word “Extreme” and the name “ECW” when promoting the Shane Douglas reunion show. This comes just on the heels of sources reporting that things were just “hunky dory” between WWE and Shane Douglas.
The letter issued to the site demanded that the terms “ECW”, “Extreme Championship Wrestling” and/or “Extreme” not be used in connection to Shane Douglas’ show.
They also demanded the website not use any logo that may be “confusingly similar” to their trademarked logos, and also wanting the names and contact information of the show’s promoters.
Industry insiders are left quite perplexed with the actions taken by WWE. So are things fine with WWE and Shane Douglas and not with WWE and Shane Douglas supporters? Stick around, we’ll keep you posted.
