This past Wednesday night, AEW Dynamite featured a match between Kenny Omega and Andrade El Idolo, where Omega came up short. El Idolo will move on to face "Hangman" Adam Page in a #1 Contender's Match for the AEW World Title at Grand Slam: Australia. The winner of that match will then compete for the World Championship at Revolution, meaning Omega will likely not be part of the show.
However, the company hinted at a future match between Omega and Swerve Strickland, following a brawl that erupted between the two after Strickland inadvertently caused Omega to lose his match against El Idolo. Despite the potential for this matchup, it may not happen at Revolution, as Omega’s status for the event on March 15th in Los Angeles, California, remains uncertain.
According to Dave Meltzer on the latest edition of Wrestling Observer Radio, Omega is scheduled to be in Tokyo, Japan, for the Capcom Cup 12 event, which runs from March 11th to 15th. This five-day tournament will feature 48 players competing in Street Fighter 6 for a grand prize of $1 million. Additionally, Omega is scheduled for meet and greet events on March 11th, 12th, and 13th. However, it is unclear whether he will stay in Japan on March 14th and 15th.
AEW Revolution 2026 is set to be held on Sunday, March 15th, at the Crypto.com Arena in Los Angeles, California.
