Latest WWE Injury Update On Women's World Champion Stephanie Vaquer

Reigning Women's World Champion Stephanie Vaquer showed up to last night's WWE Raw in a walking boot and then went onto deliver an emotional promo that seemed to suggest she may be taken off TV for a while. That was further solidified when Raquel Rodriguez attacked her in what could be perceived as a way to write her off.

PWInsiderelite.com reported today though that despite the walking boot and the ankle injury being legitimate, it is not believed that the issue will sideline Vaquer for long-term. The story added that Vaquer's injury is minor enough that WWE will not be forced to have her vacate the World title.

In a separate report, Fightful Select's Sean Ross Sapp confirmed the legitimacy of the injury but was unaware of how long Vaquer might be out of action for. However, he noted that the fact that she was in a walking boot rather than a hard cast as well as her participation in some physicality on Raw was likely a good sign that Vaquer avoided a major injury. With Royal Rumble coming up, WWE could keep her out of matches and stretch the title reign into Elimination Chamber depending on her recovery.
