Drew McIntyre Reveals His Wife Is In Emergency Surgery

Drew McIntyre has even more motivation to win on Saturday.

At the WWE Clash At The Castle: Kickoff media event on Friday afternoon in his home country of Scotland, Drew McIntyre spoke about some personal issues he is dealing with on what is going to be one of the biggest weekends of his professional life.

"The Scottish Warrior" explained that his wife is dealing with emergency surgery as he prepares for his WWE World Heavyweight Championship opportunity against Damian Priest at the WWE Clash At The Castle: Scotland premium live event on Friday afternoon, June 15, 2024, at the OVO Hydro in Glasgow, Scotland.

"I’ve very much got my eye on the ball," McIntyre said of his focus levels heading into such a big opportunity. "I’ve never ever been this focused in my life. I didn’t think this was possible. The last Clash was a stab through my heart, my family’s heart, the whole of the UK. I cannot let it happen again in Scotland. I’m back home, I couldn’t have dreamt of this moment."

McIntyre continued, "I’m gonna have my people there, my family there, a redo, a chance to make this right. I wasn’t gonna talk about it, but I can’t stop thinking about it, the one person who’s not gonna be there is my wife. She’s in surgery right now, emergency surgery. She told me, I want you to go there and bring that title home, and I’m gonna bring that title home."
