Friday Night SmackDown Quick Recap for March 18, 2022

Matches Tonight: Four (approx. 33 minutes)
  • Tag Match: Shinsuke Nakamura & Rick Boogs vs Los Lotharios. Boogs & Nakamura picked up the win after Boogs used Angel Garza as if he were hand weights and "curled" him multiple times. Impressive core strength. 8:30-8:35pm EST.
  • Six-Man Tag Match: Drew McIntyre & the Viking Raiders vs Jinder Mahal & Shanky and Happy Corbin. Corbin spent the match avoiding Drew. McIntyre picked up the win via a Claymore on Shanky. 8:44-8:52pm EST.
  • Tag Match: Naomi & Sasha Banks vs Liv More Brutality (Rhea Ripley & Liv Morgan). The team name was announced by Cole, so it's official for Liv & Rhea. Solid, good match with plenty of time. Ended in a double-DQ when Natalya & Shayna Baszler attacked both teams. Afterwards, Carmella & Zelina joined Nattie & Shayna in laying out the faces. Nattie & Shayna threw their hats in the ring, so to speak, for a WrestleMania tag title shot. 9:02-9:14pm EST.
  • Singles Main Event Match: Kofi Kingston vs Ridge Holland w/ Sheamus & Butch. Big E is not present due to breaking his neck last week (for anyone who was in the dark). Ridge Holland picked up the win with help from Dunne & Sheamus. 9:39-9:46pm EST.
Miscellaneous Non-Match Segments of Note:
  • A Universal Champion, a WWE Champion, and a Special Counsel walk into a bar...: Roman began his entrance at 8:04, and demanded to be acknowledged at 8:08pm. Reigns did a promo and was informed Brock couldn't make the flight due to weather. During the segment, he receives a text that Brock did make it . As the Bloodline look to flee the arena, Brock drove a Forklift into their limo. During a break, Lesnar dismantled their vehicle, ripped a door off as the Bloodline fled by foot, and made his way out to ring. 8:14-8:24pm EST.
  • "Anything Goes" Match: Sami Zayn challenged Johnny Knoxville to the special stipulation; Knoxville accepted. During the daylight on his pre-recorded video. Best guess: it's an extreme rules, falls count anywhere match, but that's just my guess..
  • Pat/Vince: After the women's tag match, McAfee was summoned to Vince's office. After leaving the office (with no word of what happened inside), he went to the ring and cut a promo about his love for wrestling. Austin Theory arrived, seeking an apology. McAfee was forced to "apologize" to keep their match at WrestleMania and he did...in a way only Pat can. Worth watching. 9:20-9:29pm EST.
  • WrestleMania Match Update: The Women's Tag Championship will be a Fatal 4-Way as Queen Zelina & Carmella, who were already set to defend against Liv More Brutality and Banks & Naomi, now must contend with Natalya & Baszler.
  • Big E Health Update: Luckily, the big man only has a fractured C1 and C6--no spinal damage, no ligament damage, and no surgery needed.
  • Charlotte Flair's Challenge: Flair never issued a challenge despite the billing. She cut a promo on Ronda until Rousey came out. The two brawled, culminating with Flair powerbombing Rousey through the commentary table to end our program. 9:52-9:59pm EST.
