More on Cody Rhodes Signing With WWE; Tentative Plans for WrestleMania

– Earlier tonight, it was reported that Cody Rhodes has signed a contract with WWE and that he is expected to appear during WrestleMania weekend and will be working the Raw brand, as per pwinsider.com. Fightfulselect.com adds that while they haven’t been able to confirm the signing, WWE has been operating under the assumption that Rhodes is headed there and Dave Meltzer of f4wonline.com had reported that WWE had penciled in a match for him against Seth Rollins, who has been working a story where he is trying to get on the WrestleMania card. Other “huge” pitches have also reportedly been made, but it’s unclear how far along they got.

– The Fightful report adds that one source indicated that travel plans for Cody Rhodes have been set for WrestleMania Sunday but cautioned that that could still be changed at any time, for example, if they want to use Rhodes on Saturday instead. Still, backstage the belief is that Rhodes will work on Sunday and the general consensus in WWE and also in AEW aligns with the original report that Rhodes won’t appear on TV before WrestleMania.
